Back on the bike.

All test have showed that i'm all good and can start riding again. This is frustrating because we still don't know why i had hip pain but on the good side at least their is nothing serious wrong.

Back on the bike this week i was out on the Thursday night Tour of the Burgs just feeling how the hip and legs were going. Kate called while i was climbing up to Doncaster Shopingtown luckily it was just to tell me she had sold some more stuff and wasn't going into labour.

Saturday morning i did the usual Hell Ride. I find this ride is good at keeping the speed in the legs as it is the fastest group ride around Melbourne.

Sunday morning i met up with Jeff before work and hit the Yarra trails in the dark. It was great to see Jeff nailing tricky sections of trails straight away on his brand new Giant Anthem.

Heading over to Jeff's Shed for a weights session tonight and will ramp the training up a notch aver the next few weeks to get ready for the first round of Chase the Sun.

Training tip: each week you need to do a ride that is at or close to race pace. This keeps the memory of a hard effort in the legs and makes it easier and faster to get into form.

Frustrated cyclist visits the emergency ward AGAIN!

I haven't been able to update my blog in a while due to a bad reaction to antibiotics. This has stopped me from living life and confined me to the couch for the passed 5 days. I also had my second trip to the emergency department in less than a month - not good when your wife is 35 weeks pregnant.

I am having more tests tomorrow to find out why i was also having trouble walking from shooting pains running down the front of my right hip.

With all the sitting around i have put together my finest programme - peaking me perfectly for the 24 hour Worlds in July. When you can't do the things you want to, it makes you real hungry, so be warned training rides will become ferocious and leave you wishing you had gone to a race instead.

I won't be racing until Chase The Sun on 11th May (subject to the arrival of baby #2) where i will be teaming up with Murray to see if we can take out the series.

As for the garage sale mentioned in my previous post all items are still up for sale apart from the seat so if you are interested let me know as the cash will help fund my trip to the Worlds.
